Mission Statement

New Beginnings, Bluegrass is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with serious mental illness by providing quality, recovery-based housing and support services. 

Housing Programs

The goal of New Beginnings Bluegrass is to provide quality housing and support services to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI). We believe that everyone has a fundamental human right to safe, decent, and affordable housing. For more than two decades, our agency has been committed to continually developing and implementing housing programs to help meet the needs of individuals with SMI in the Lexington, Kentucky area. Our services are built on the evidence-based practice of Permanent Supportive Housing, a model that is nationally recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to the housing needs of persons with SMI. This intervention combines non-time-limited safe and affordable housing with voluntary and flexible support services to help people with SMI live more stable, productive lives in the community.

Support Services
All residents in New Beginnings' housing units have access to a Housing Support Specialist to assist with the pursuit of person-centered recovery goals and self-sufficiency. Each program participant’s needs are assessed on a range of life skills including housekeeping, grooming, sociability, money management, etc. and assistance is provided to improve each person’s ability to carry out the demands of everyday living.

It is the policy of New Beginnings, Bluegrass that personal information, such as your name, email address, and/or telephone number, is kept private and confidential. Accordingly, the personal information you provide is stored in a secure location accessible only by designated staff, and is used only for the purposes for which you provided the information.
